This page shows how faculty and students can create a click-able link in BlackBoard. In the example we will post a link to a Youtube video in a discussion forum.


  • Screen Shot 2015-02-27 at 1.21.03 PM.pngOn the webpage to which you want to link, highlight and copy the URL (address).
  • In Blackboard open the Message box in which you want to post the link.
  • Paste the URL into the Message box.
  • Highlight the URL.
  • Click the "link" icon in the editing tools.
  • In the window that opens paste the URL in the Link Path box.
  • Click Insert.
  • If prompted to open the link in its own window, click OK.
  • Now the URL in your Message box is blue and underlined - meaning it is click-able.
  • Click submit to post your message.
